A 10-DAY beginners course in Topsham will introduce you to the ancient therapeutic art of Thai Massage. Emma Cayless has spent many years practicing and training people in Thai Massage. She is bringing her extensive experience and unique playful teaching style to the Estuary Clinic in Topsham for an in-depth course spread over 10 sessions. Aimed at beginners, the course includes, ‘sen’ work (applied pressure along the energy lines running through the body), deep compression, passive stretching, gentle harmonics and integrated soft-tissue techniques. Emma said: “It is suitable for complete novices who are keen to start out as massage therapists as well as existing therapists who want to expand their skills and practices. We will be creating a relaxed, enjoyable and informed atmosphere for people to learn this deeply effective, ancient healing art.” She explained that the combination of compression, stretching and soft tissue work encourages the release of blockages and congestion found in the muscles, joints and fascia. This stimulates the flow of blood, lymph, nerves, breath and energy around the body, creating improved flexibility and movement in the body and a deeper clarity and stillness in the mind. The 10-day course will run on March 23-24-25, April 14-15, and May 19-20. For more information visit www.devonthaimassage.com or call 07971101332.
